Poppy, JoannJoann Marie Poppy, age 84, New London, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2016, following a short illness. She was born on November 21, 1932 in New London daughter of the late Wilford and Hazel (Kuppernus) Cupp. Joann lived for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and they were the joy of her life. She worked as a CNA at Lakeview Manor in Weyauwega for over 40 years.Joann is survived by her children: Cindy (Gary) Otterson, Waupaca; Debbie Bruette, New London; Judy (Greg) Struble, Waupaca; Scott Poppy (Special friend, Stacy Sommer), New London; Tom (Carrie) Poppy, Shiocton and daughter in-law, Kathy Poppy, Clintonville; two sisters, Elaine (Bob) Ast, Cedarburg and Judy (Delton) Gorges, New London. She is further survived by 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and was looking forward to two great-great grandchildren in the next few months; also numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends especially her close friend Connie Craig.She was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother Elva Cupp, a son Jim, and a brother Robert (Elaine) Cupp.Funeral services for Joann will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church, New London with Rev. Mark Tiefel officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Town of Lebanon.
