Betty Joan MurphyZANESVILLE: Joan Murphy, 76, of Zanesville, passed away on Jan. 31, 2017 peacefully in her home surrounded by her family. She was born on Nov. 7, 1940 in Fultonham, a daughter of the late Mont and Minnie A. (Perry) Bennett. She was a member of FOE #2070 in New Lexington. She enjoyed cooking and baking. She is survived by one sister Bonnie Riffle of Newark. One daughter Bonnie (Randy) Eppley of Zanesville. Four sons Cliff (Karen) Murphy of Zanesville, Jerry Murphy of Zanesville, Mike (Amy) Murphy of Oakfield, and Gary (Sherry) Murphy of Zanesville. Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Clifford Murphy. Three brothers Bud, Doug, and Frank. One sister Ruth. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Sat. Feb. 4, 2017 at WILLIAM THOMPSON & SON FUNERAL HOME 5765 Gladstone Drive White Cottage where funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Cheryl Sinift officiating. Burial will be in Millertown Cemetery in Corning. Following the burial a celebration of life gathering will be held at the Corning Monroe Civic Center.
