Jimmie Duron at age 84 passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 25, 1927, in Florence, AZ. He entered the U.S. Navy at the age of 15, serving 30 years as Active Duty and Reservist. He was proudly a member of the Veterans of underage Military service. He also proudly served in the YRMC emergency room as a volunteer for 16 years. Jimmie was preceded in death by his wife, Hortencia, of 63 years; daughter, Sharon Hanners of Yuma. Jimmie is survived by his son, James Duron; daughter, Karen Nelson; son-in-law, Donnie Hanners; granddaughters, Anna Edwards-La Clair, and Cassandra Duron; grandsons, Jamie Duron, and Adrian Neson, as well as his family in Yuma. The family expresses their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the amazing nurses of Med West at YRMC for the loving care provided to our father, and for the respectful care of Hospice Compassus. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Journey of faith church.
