Jerry James CliftonNew Iberia, LA - Memorial services for Mr. Jerry James Clifton will be held Thursday, July 20, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Ed Downs of the First Baptist Church of New Iberia officiating.Visitation with the family will begin Thursday morning at 9:30 A.M. until service time at Acadian Funeral Home. Inurnment will be private and held at a later date. Jerry was born on October 19, 1962 in Jennings, LA. He passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at the Ochsner Foundation Hospital in New Orleans.Jerry's family would like to take this opportunity to thank his local physician, Dr. George Cousin and also the caring physicians and staff of the Ochsner Foundation Hospital in New Orleans.Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trips to the casinos. He enjoyed NHRA car racing and enjoyed NFL and college football games. He was a trumpet player. His work and his passion was repairing transmissions of cars and trucks. His family stated he was pure of heart and gave himself to all.Left behind to cherish his memory is his mother, Sharon Gray of New Iberia, his father, Jack Clark Clifton Sr. and wife, Sonia of New Iberia, his brother, Jack Clifton and wife, Anna of New Iberia, a nephew, Madison James Clifton of Jackson, TN, two wonderful friends, Denny Mestayer and Bonnie Venable.In addition to any customary expressions of sympathy, the family suggest donations in Jerry's name to the Ochsner Foundation Hospital, 1514 Jefferson Highway, New Orleans, LA 70121.
