Jerry Alan Harding passed away November 3, 2009, with his family by is side in Kittitas WA after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on December 17, 1951 in Richland WA to Ray and Beverly Harding. He was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly Harding. Jerry will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 36 years Rietta (Oosterywk) Harding of Kittitas WA; father Ray Harding of Marysville WA; children Jeffrey Harding and son Aidan of Bellingham WA, Alicia (Les) Reed and children Morgan, Aislynn, and Allison of Coleville CA, Jennifer Harding of Marysville WA; uncle Alvin Harding of Walla Walla WA; sisters Janice (Jerry) Funden of Marysville WA, Lynda (David) Jones of Marysville WA, Kristine (Michael) Gray of Waterville WA; father in-law Gerard Oosterwyk of Marysville WA; sister in-law Marja Oosterwyk of Marysville WA, brother in-law Piet Oosterwyk of Marysville WA; as well as many loved nieces, nephews, and good friends. Jerry graduated from the Marysville High School, Marysville WA, in 1971. He received his Bachelor and Masters Degrees from Central Washington University and began his teaching career in Darrington WA. He then went on to serve as principle/superintendent of Mill “A†School District in Southwest WA. In 1989 Jerry and his family made their home in Kittitas WA where he enjoyed 19 wonderful years as superintendent of the Kittitas School District and retired in 2008. Jerry was a dedicated son, husband, father, and grandfather. He was devoted to his family and thoroughly enjoyed family vacations and gatherings. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and made regular trips with his father, relatives, and close friends. He was a loyal fan of the Kittitas Coyotes and enjoyed being involved in school activities. Recently the district named the athletic field of the new high school in his honor. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday November 11th at 7pm at the Kittitas Secondary Building in Kittitas WA. Private family graveside services will be held at a later date in Marysville WA. Memorial donations may be made to the Kittitas Public Schools Foundation., P.O Box 635, Kittitas WA 98934.
