BURLINGTON - Jerome J. Baumeister, 79, passed away June 6, 2012 at his home. Jerome was born on July 11, 1932 in Burlington, to the late Barney and Alice (nee: Autermann) Baumeister. Jerome was a lifetime resident of the Burlington area, attending St. Mary's School, English Settlement School and Ag School. On September 12, 1953 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Jerome was united in marriage to Lorraine Probst. Following marriage they resided on the family farm in Dover Township. Jerome was a dairy farmer and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He loved life and having fun with family and friends, as well as the time spent with his grandchildren. Jerome enjoyed polka music, dancing and having a good time. Survivors include his wife, Lorraine; their children, Nick (Diane) Baumeister, Joe Baumeister, Linda (Ron) Hegemann, Debbie Pieters, Jake Baumeister and Lucas Baumeister; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and by siblings, Ervin 'Bud' (Charolette) Baumeister and Mary Lou (Jack) Braun. Jerome was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Romayne (Robert) Linneman; sister-in-law, Delores Baumeister; and by in-laws Alexander and Lillian Probst. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 11, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. James Volkert officiating. Burial will follow at Rosewood Cemetery.
