Jennie E. SmithDelmar-Jennie E. Smith, 84, of Delmar, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.She was born on January 21, 1932 in Laurel, a daughter of the late Marion and Fannie Ellis.Mrs. Smith worked for First Omni Bank in Millsboro for 19 years. She enjoyed her job there and took great pride in doing high quality, accurate work. She was a member of the Laurel Nazarene Church for many years. She enjoyed spending the day going to antique stores looking for treasures, especially glassware. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family, cooking for them, and being together at family gatherings. She especially treasured the time spent with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.She is survived by her son, Mark Riggin (Lynn); daughters, Teri M. Collins(Jerry Davis) and Brenna Pizzaia (Terry) all of Laurel; grandchildren, Jodie Racine, Ted Collins, Jr., Jessica Furbush, Tonya Cornish, Mariah Riggin, and Seth Riggin; six great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren; a brother, Phil Ellis (Debbie) of Laurel; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Smith; a brother, Fred Ellis and his wife Irma; and a sister, Elizabeth Dickerson and her husband Joseph.A visitation for family and friends will be from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday evening and from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove Street in Delmar. Reverend David Dunn will officiate.
