Jeannette Eva Scherer96, formerly of Fowler, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at home. She was born on August 5, 1920, in Earl Park, Indiana, the daughter of the late Edward and Marie (Lanone) Broe.She was married to Bernard John Scherer on July 3, 1945, in Fowler, Indiana.  He passed away on August 27, 1977.Jeannette attended St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lebanon.She was a full-time mom, raising six children.  Her son, Donald L. Scherer, died in 2003.Surviving children are, Ronald J. (Mary) Scherer of Lebanon, Myra (James) Calvert of Attica, Linda Jackson of Danville, Patricia (Rob) Puetz of Bloomington, Illinois, and Karen (Syed) Ali of Indianapolis. She is also survived by one brother, Leonard Broe of Lafayette. There are fourteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild who she loved dearly.Private Family Graveside Services will be held at a later date. Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana, has been entrusted with her arrangements.A precious one from us has gone. A soft voice we loved is stilled. A place is vacant in our homes, which can never be filled. God in his wisdom has recalled a gentle soul which is in heaven.
