Jean M. Michaels, age 82, of Oscoda died on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at Saginaw St. Mary's Medical Center. She was born on Dec. 12, 1928 in Sault Ste. Marie to the late Raymond and Gertrude Furtaw (nee Irwin). Jean enjoyed reading and watching television. She is survived by her four children, Debbie (Russell) Jones, Rick Michaels, Tom (Sarah) Michaels and Randy (Laura) Michaels; seven grandchildren, Lauren, Ian, Hannah, Quinn, James, Olivia and Eric; and two great-grandchildren, Alden and Aiden. Jean is also survived by her niece, Janice (Samuel) Harlan; two great nieces, Amy Harlan and Angela Harlan; great nephew, Anthony Harlan; and two cousins, Charles Furtaw and Roma Affelt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Furtaw; and sister, Kathryn Pierce. Visitation took place on Monday, June 13 from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. at Buresh Funeral Home in Oscoda with Rev. Rob Nordin officiating.
