Jean JowettGrand LedgeJean Jowett, age 87, of Grand Ledge, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on December 17, 2016 at Sparrow Hospice House, in Lansing, after a sudden illness.  Jean was born on July 28, 1929 in Hastings, to late Ernest and Ina Mae Kenyon.  She married Bill Jowett on June 23, 1990, he preceded her in death on August 13, 2012.Jean worked in the Michigan Senate for 30 years, where she met so many of her wonderful friends.  She loved dancing, playing cards, going out to eat, spending time with her grandkids and playing pokeno, with her many friends at Independence Village in Grand Ledge, where she lived for the past seven years. Although we are all very sad, we take comfort in the knowledge that she is free of pain and dancing in heaven with Bill.  Special thanks to Sparrow Hospice House for the extraordinary care she received and to family friend, Bill Kandler for his friendship and support.Jean is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lori (Rich) Studley, son, Scott Fuller, step-son and daughter-in-law, Alan (Terry) Jowett, grandchildren; Ryan (Christine Simon) Studley, Jessica Fuller, Kali Fuller, Rachel Fuller, Nick Jowett, Andrew Jowett, K.C. Craven and Amanda (Tom Bower) Craven, sister, Lois Finkbeiner, along with several nieces and nephews and Kim Beattie, who was like a daughter to her. She was preceded in death by her sister, Louise and five brothers, Russell, Robert, Rex, Richard, Raymond.Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 23, 2016 at 11:30am in the Holihan-Atkin-Barclay Funeral Home, located at 406 Bridge St., Grand Ledge.  Reverend Max Amstutz will officiate.  Burial will be in Delta Center Cemetery.  Visiting hours will be Thursday, from 2:00pm until 8:00pm and again on Friday, from 10:00am until time of service.  Memorial tributes can be made to the:  Sparrow Hospice House.Arrangements in care of Jowett Funeral Home - 1634 Lapeer Avenue, Port Huron.  View obituary and share memories at www.jowettfuneraldirectors.com
