Jean Ann Jacobs, age 85, of Fredericktown, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Bradley Bay Health Center in Bay Village, Ohio. She was born on September 12, 1928 in Columbus, to the late Floyd and Florence (Kinney) Smith. Jean Ann retired as a secretary from Fredericktown City Schools; she also was employed at the Knox County Court House. She was an active member of the Fredericktown First Presbyterian Church. Jean Ann enjoyed her time with the "Mother's Round Table" in Fredericktown. She loved reading, discussing politics and current events. She was an avid OSU football and basketball fan along with the Cleveland Indians. Most of all she loved being around her family and close friends.
Jean Ann is survived by her children, Carol Jacobs of Fredericktown, Diane (Chuck) Kelley of Reynoldsburg and David (Brenda) Jacobs of Bay Village; six grandchildren, Caitlin, Clark, Cole and Casey Jacobs, Becky and Michael Kelley; a brother, Dr. Donald (Melba) Smith of Muncie, Ind.; a sister, Carolyn (Larry) Lotz of Bellville; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde E. Jacobs, who passed away on January 21, 2014.
The family will observe a private funeral service with Pastor Mike Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown.
