Jayne Darling ReevesFort GratiotJayne Darling Reeves, 86, of Fort Gratiot, passed away on October 9, 2017, at her home, Barss Residental Care with her family by her side. She was born on February 23, 1931 in Port Huron, daughter of the late David and Amelia Weiss. Jayne married Aubry "Doc" Reeves. He passed away September 7, 2002. She was a graduate of Port Huron High School in 1949. Jayne was a former Chrysler employee and owner/operator of The Gardens Roller Rink and Vow Inn Reception Hall. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ. Jayne enjoyed her home on Lake Huron, her flowers, gardening and time with her grandchildren. Jayne is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Richard Jr. (Debby) Darling; daughter and son-in-law, Bambi (James) Markie; four grandchildren: Zachary Markie, Drew Darling, Dr. Muray Darling (Stephen Mangin) and Ian Markie and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three children: B. Jayne, Ross and Kevin; her seven siblings: Sophia Roth, Rudy Weiss, Christian Weiss, Pete Weiss, Sarah Stockwell, Maria Longson and Helen Connors. A Memorial service will be held Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at St. John's United Church of Christ, 710 Pine St., Port Huron. Rev. Dr. Richard Hotchkin will officiate. Inurnment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the church. Arrangements are in care of Jowett Funeral Home, 1634 Lapeer Ave. @ 17th Street, Port Huron. Memorial tributes may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ.
