Jayla Buie, 22, of Tampa, Florida, passed Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at 7:23 am in Tampa, Florida. Jayla was born to Jermaine Buie, and Johnnetta Buie, June 15, 1995.

Jayla was the oldest of 5 children and the only to play the saxophone. Jayla graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 2013 and received a degree from Florida Gulf Coast in 2017. Jayla moved to start a career in North Carolina and worked at Sunnyside Elementary as a teacher until her death. She loved helping others and making a difference in other's lives.

Jayla is preceded in death by her brother, Jermaine Buie Jr; grandmothers, Martha Obrian and Jennifer Harrison-Buie. She will leave behind 2 loving parents, Jermaine and Johnnetta Buie; 3 sisters, Tierra Buie ( Keon ) Jasmine Buie, and Deja Buie; 2 grandfathers, Carnell Buie and Fred Everhart; 1 aunt, Rhonda Dial ( Shawn ); 1 uncle, Ronald ( Tomiko ); special friend, Andre Moran; along with a host of cousins, great aunts, and great uncles. 

Memorial service will be held at Spring Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Tampa, FL on March 8, 2018, at 11:00 am with Pastor Neil officiating. Repast will be held at Spring hill missionary baptist church. Family and friends are asked to meet at the church by 10:00 am.
