MECHANICSBURG Janie Belle (Springer) Higgins, 69, died unexpectedly at home on Thursday, May 7, 2015. Janie was born on Thursday, July 19, 1945, in Harrisburg to the late Carlton Springer and Gladys (Wolfe) Springer. In addition to her parents, Janie was preceded in death by her brother, Carl Springer, who died in 2004; and by her stepson, Robert Eshelman, who died tragically in a tractor-trailer accident on the same day as Janie. Janie's survivors include her loving son, Mark Daniel Fuller and his fiancee, Denise Housden, of York; her brother, Steve Springer; her former spouse, Daniel F. Fuller and his wife, Judy; and her two beloved cats, Izzy and Gracie. Janie graduated from John Harris High School. She would have retired as a legal secretary from McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC on May 29, 2015 after more than 20 years of service. Before joining the law firm, Janie worked as an executive secretary for the Math Department at Penn State Harrisburg. Some of her favorite things to do were to spend time at the casino, to watch King of Queens, and to take day trips. Simple pleasures, like sitting on her porch while sipping coffee and talking to her friends on the telephone, were some of the sweetest things in life to Janie. While the simple life was precious to Janie, the greatest treasure in her life was her son, Mark. She loved to watch and listen to him play drums and she was his most exuberant fan. All are welcome to join Janie's family at her viewing on Wednesday, May 13, 2015, from 12 p.m. until time of service at 1:30 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 E. Main St., Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, with Pastor Thomas Longenecker officiating. Burial in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Harrisburg follows the service. Honored to be pallbearers are Tom Kinney, Sr., Tommy Kinney, Jr., Mark Fuller, Dan F. Fuller, Steve Springer, and Dan J. Fuller. Janie's family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at Gilligan's Bar & Grill, Colonial Park location, 10 North Houcks Road, Harrisburg, PA 17109 immediately following the burial.
