Janetta Laurynn GibsonJanetta Laurynn Gibson, 46, passed away on September 9, 2015 in Ellensburg, WA. She was born on March 4, 1969 in Puyallup, WA to Frank E. Gibson and Evelyn L. (Petrich) Gibson. As an infant, Janetta was diagnosed with a chromosome abnormality which caused her to struggle with a lifelong movement disability. She had a strong stubborn side that gave her the fortitude to live through her disability with determination and excitement for each new day. With years of genetic testing, Janetta began to feel as though she was a pincushion. However; in this last year, some progress has been made which will in turn help others with some of these same complications. Years of day to day care by those who loved her made her difficult life less challenging and more tolerable. Janetta was born in Puyallup, Washington, and moved to Ellensburg when she was 8 years old. She loved attending school and was always excited to see the bus coming to pick her up. She made many friends in school and loved participating in many school activities. She was very proud to graduate from Ellensburg High School with the class of ~1988~. She had an especially good memory, which proved to be a tremendous help to others. Janetta had a very special relationship with her father. She loved her family (her Dad~ especially). Getting ready for school each morning was a struggle trying to decide if a certain hairdo was what she really wanted. To her, the microwave door made a good mirror as she could sit in her corner chair well, arranging her hairdo just so-so. That spot made a wonderful perch for all to listen to her teenage girl struggles, and a good choice to convince Dad why the two of them should attend the prom in 1988. She always wanted to join the other kids in all the everyday activities, and he always helped her meet her goals.Janetta was preceded by a 'SMILE' that lit up the room, and her presence left a lingering memory. Her main joy was found in being around other people! She is survived by her daughters Tia Naomi Nicole Gibson and Nalani Aurora Laurynn Gibson, brother Arlan Maurice Gibson and his girlfriend Patrice Buchmann, parents Frank and Evelyn Gibson, grandmother Artis A. Petrich, and numerous aunts and uncles.Everyone is invited to attend a viewing which will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Steward & Williams Tribute Center, in Ellensburg, WA., with her final resting place to be decided.
