Warner, Jane S.Jane "Janie" S. Warner, age 88, an almost always smiling and on-the-move 4'11" force of nature, died peacefully on February 24, 2017 at Atrium Senior Living - Point Manor. When Jane was called to join her son Tom in heaven, her loving husband Dale and daughter Mary Chris were at her side. Jane was born November 14, 1928 at the family home on Water Street in Stevens Point. She was the daughter of Joseph & Helen (Somers) Schoettel. She attended St. Stephen Catholic Grade School, and graduated from St. Joseph Academy in 1946. Jane met Dale Warner through a good friend, enjoyed going together to the old Cardinal Ballroom, the Indian Crossing Casino, and other fun spots. They were married on August 5, 1950 at St. Stephen Catholic Church. They lived at the home they loved dearly on Elk Street, just one block away from where Janie grew up. Dale and Janie spent 66 ½ years of fun- loving life together. They cherished all the wonderful neighbors they met, and Janie enjoyed doing various kind deeds for all. These neighbors also helped a great deal in return, for which the family will be forever grateful.Jane worked for many years at McDonald Law & Abstract Company, and at Copps Corporation on the traveling inventory crew, where she gained many friends and all of whom worked hard together but had lots of fun along the way as well!A lifelong member of St. Stephen's church and a regular member of the church choir, Jane was also very active with the Catholic Daughters of America (CDA) and served on various committees throughout the years. She also volunteered at the Portage County Health Care Center. Family was extremely important to Janie. She especially enjoyed numerous family camping trips throughout the Midwest; travelling to California to visit her son Tim and his family, taking in all the sights and beauty of the area; as well as attending nearly all of her grandchildren's sporting events. She may have been the smallest Grandma in the stands, but she was the hugest fan of everything they took part in! Jane was especially delighted and proud when her granddaughter Lindsey Jane was born on her 60th birthday. The family cottage on the Chain O'Lakes in Waupaca is the place Jane and Dale and all their family and friends cherish gathering at for lots of fun, good food, and campfires until the wee hours. Janie is remembered for running errands across town on her light blue Schwinn bicycle or later her light blue Honda moped scooter. Janie had the best luck at looking down at the grass and finding 4-leaf clovers, often while hanging clothes in the back yard. These 4-leaf clovers were then wrapped specially and shared with all for special occasions frequently along with $2 bills. Janie loved to bake cookies and share them with family, friends, and neighbors. Although she never entered any contests, the pies she made were definitely Blue Ribbon winners! Jane is survived by her husband of 66 ½ years, Dale; children, Linda (Walter) Hawkins of Altoona, WI, Timothy (Catherine) of Los Altos Hills, CA, and Mary "Chris" (Gary) Litrenta of Rothschild, WI; grandchildren, Collin (Carmen) Hawkins, Chelsea Hawkins, Amasa Warner, Talie Warner, Lindsey (Jeremy) Lewitzke, Jillian (fiancé Kevin) Litrenta, and Drew Litrenta. She is further survived by twin great grandchildren, Giovanna and Arlo Hawkins; and many very special nieces and nephews. Jane is preceded in death by her parents; her son, Thomas Warner; brothers, Joey and Jake; sister, Mary Suplicki; and her dear lifelong friend Margaret Dineen. A Funeral Mass to celebrate Jane's life will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 2, 2017 at St. Stephen Catholic Church, with Rev. Jerzy Rebacz presiding. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of Mass at the church. Burial will follow in St. Stephen's Cemetery.
