James "Randy" RichardMaurepas, LA - After a difficult battle with pancreatic cancer, James "Randy" Richard lost the fight on May 2, 2017 comfortably in his home in Maurepas, LA at the age of 61. Randy was born on May 20, 1955 in Opelousas, LA into a large and growing family. He is the son of Jim and Helen Richard, and brother of Dale, Greg, Debbie, Mitzi and Cindy. Randy graduated from Opelousas High School in 1973. He went on to lead a very successful career in Construction and Construction Management. Randy is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Donna, and their three children and families, Mandy Baker, oldest daughter, and her husband, Seth, and children, Brett, Alyssa and Callie; Jimmy Richard, their son, and his wife, Allyson, and three children, Randy, Tanner and Carson, and Jessica Cason, their youngest daughter, her husband, John, and two children, Breanna and Briley. He is also survived by his father, James "Jim" M. Richard, and preceded in death by his mother Helen M. Richard. Randy was not only a caring husband, and loving father, but also a great friend to many. He never met a stranger, and was always willing to help anyone in need. Randy will be missed by many people, but he left a legacy that will be remembered forever. Visitation will be held on Friday May 5, 2017 at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs from 5:00pm until 8:00pm with the recitation of the Rosary starting at 7:00pm. Visitation will continue on Saturday May 6, 2017 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in French Settlement from 9:00am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am.
