James Pope, age 77, entered Eternal Rest on Tuesday, August 13, 2019. Born on June 13,1942, at Columbia Hospital in Columbia, SC.  He was the only son of Mary Pope and David Pope.  His schooling took place in Columbia, South Carolia.  James married Lucille Harriston in 1965.  He was in the United States Air Force for 30 years before retiring and opening his own business, Pope Cleaning Service.  James loved listening to jazz, and he was avid fisherman. James also enjoyed watching movies, and alarming the neighorhood with his noisy high powered yard tools. James was always down for his family, a good meal, and some good laughs. He was predeceased by his father David Pope, Noxoubbe County, Mississippi, and his mother, Mary Pope.  James leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife Lucille Pope; his sons; Michael Pope and Donald Pope, both of Cinncinnati, Ohio, Steven Pope of Naugatuck, Connecticut, and daughter Renee Pope-Sherrod of Redondo Beach, California, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
