James Leroy MontgomeryZANESVILLE: James Leroy Montgomery, 78, of Zanesville, passed away at 11:36 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at his residence.He was born on February 12, 1935, in Newark, Ohio, a son of the late Alva N., Sr. and Lucy E. Osborne Montgomery. He retired as a foreman for Anchor Glass. He was a member of Newark Road First Church of God and American Legion Post #29. He served our country and protected our freedom by serving in the United States Army during the
Korean War.Surviving are his wife, Shirley Weaver Montgomery of the home; three sons, Dan (Rebecca) Montgomery, Tim (Marsha) Montgomery of Monroe, NC. and Rod (Michelle) Montgomery also of Monroe, NC.; ten grandchildren, Dustin (Stephanie) Montgomery, Amanda (Brad) Seward, Ashley (Ryan) McKibben, Allison Kennedy, Amber (Brad) Fitzpatrick, Mason (Kristin) Montgomery, Jade Montgomery, Paige Montgomery, Adam Montgomery and Madison Montgomery; nine great grandchildren, Charlie Montgomery, Braden and Kayli Seward, Ian and Carson McKibben, Ashlynne, Noah and Cam Fitzpatrick and Colby Montgomery; one brother, Everett (Peggy) Montgomery of Marietta, GA; and one sister, Alma (Melvin) Dilley of Zanesville.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers: Alva Jr., Loren and Charles Montgomery; and sister, Mary Gottke.Friends and family may call from 2-4 p.m. & 6-8 p.m. on Friday, May 17, 2013 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE and one hour prior to services at the church. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at The First Church of God, 1930 Newark Road with Pastor Gary Bennett officiating.
