James Lawlor1943 - 2014James Lawlor, 71, of Kenosha passed away on Monday July 21, 2014, at his home surrounded by his loving family.James was born on Feb. 1, 1943, in Portland, Ore., the son of the late James Lawlor, Sr. and Helen Hylton. James was educated in the schools of Kenosha. He was a member of the U.S. Navy. James married Karen Fleming on July 21, 1961, in Kenosha, and shared 53 wonderful years together, passing away on their anniversary. He was employed as manager of transportation for the City of Kenosha, working there for 27 years. James was a member of Journey Church. He was state chaplain of the Gideons for Wisconsin, served as chaplain at St. Catherines and Kenosha Memorial Hospital, he enjoyed movies, music, and singing at church, and was an active follower of Christ and spreading the Gospel.Survivors include his wife, Karen Kay Lawlor of Kenosha; children, Patrick (Elizabeth) Lawlor of Kenosha, Jeffrey (Maria) Lawlor of Alabama, Laurie (Jeff) Hoskins of Kenosha, Russell Lawlor of Pewaukee, Kathryn (Matthew) TerBeek of Milwaukee; 15 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. James was preceded in death by his sister, Deloris Ann Austin, his step-mother, Esther Lawlor, and step-father, Robert Hylton.A visitation will be held on Thursday July 24, 2014, at Kenosha Funeral Services from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday, July 25, 2014, at Journey Church, 10700 75th St, Kenosha, WI 53142, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., with funeral services to follow at 11 a.m. at Journey Church.
