James L. "Jim" LitzingerSt. Cloud, MNOct. 19, 1929 - Aug. 13, 2017Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, August 18, 2017 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in St. Cloud for James L. "Jim" Litzinger age 87, of St. Cloud who passed away at his daughter's home in Shakopee on Sunday, August 13, 2017. Reverend Thomas Knoblach will officiate. Burial will take place at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls with full military honors at a later date. Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and one hour prior to services on Friday at the Church. The Waite Park American Legion will have their ritual at 6:00 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Jim was born on October 19, 1929 in St. Cloud to Leslie and Regina (Hohmann) Litzinger. He served honorably in the United States Army.  Jim worked for 39 years for the United States Post office. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Waite Park American Legion Silver Star Post #428, and the American Postal Union-AFL-CIO. Jim loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and gardening. He loved all the time spent with his family, especially the grandchildren. Jim is survived by his children, Brenda of St. Cloud, Gerilyn (Bill) Hommerding of Shakopee, Lisa (Scott) Dombrovski of Cold Spring, Kevin (Sheri) of St. Paul, Anne (Lonnie) Gohmann of Sauk Rapids, Maria (Steve) Fritz of Taylorsville, UT; 14 grandchildren; brother and sisters, Tom (Evelyn), Joan Thelen, Carol Gross, Judy (Ken) Kipka; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Steven Litzinger; and granddaughter, Eva Marie Fritz.
