James "Jim" Joseph Koenig, age 64, a lifelong resident of Oscoda, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at St. Mary's Medical Center of Saginaw. He was born on Aug. 24, 1950 in Frankfurt, Germany to the late Joseph and Darly Koenig (nee Funk). Jim was extremely community minded; he was a local business owner, a member of the Base Re-Use Committee, the Rotary Club and was an Oscoda Township Trustee. Jim enjoyed bird hunting, fishing and most importantly, spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Sharmaine Koenig; son, Jordan (Sara Lepine) Koenig and daughter, Kelly Koenig; brothers, Ron Koenig and Daron (Donna) Koenig; sister, Debbie (Koenig) Wiltse; grandchildren, Jenna Koenig, Hazel Duncan and Hudson Duncan; nieces, Michelle (Koenig) Forward and Karen Koenig; nephews, Daniel Koenig, Rick Koenig, Eric Wiltse and Luke Wiltse. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, Aug. 8 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oscoda.
