James "Jim" W. HortonZanesville: James "Jim" W. Horton , 83 of Zanesville died at 7:08 PM Thursday, July 20, 2017 at the Genesis Morrison House Hospice following a lengthy illness.He was born on Saturday, March 03, 1934 in Summerfield, Ohio the son of Otis Ocil Horton and Florence Winifred Morrison Horton.Jim was a member of Coburn United Methodist Church and retired from International Motor Freight & Cook Motor Lines after 31 years of service. Then he was employed as a book keeper with Hupp/Stiverson Vault Company for over 13 and after that he worked for Dillion State Park at the camp store. He was a very devoted and loving father, husband and grandfather. He enjoyed playing euchre and spending time with family, especially his granddaughters. He is survived by his wife, Leanna G. (Carpenter) Horton of 64 years, who was his childhood sweetheart from the age of 13 and whom he married Oct. 11, 1952; three daughters; Cristy (Bob) Helser of Grove City, Rhonda (John) Parker of Millersport and Tami (Terry Gee) Horton of Hilliard; 3 granddaughters, Whitney (Bruce) Schroeder, Mandy Helser and Lexie Horton; a sister, Irene Barnett of Canton. Jim was preceded in death in addition to his parents by a sister, Mable Smith.Friends may call 2:00 -4:00 PM & 6:00 -8:00 PM on Monday, July 24, 2017 at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home where service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 with Rev. Webster Cox officiating.
