James George, age 58, of Chesaning passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2009, at Memorial Healthcare Center, Owosso. He was born on Oct. 10, 1951, in Madras, India, the son of George Thomas and Kunjumma George. Jim married Judy Sexton on May 22, 1982; she survives him. Jim was the owner and operator of the Lake State Railway Company and Saginaw Bay Southern Company. Jim was larger than life and loved life, especially his family and his hunting camp. His lifelong passion was his railroad. He was a very avid hunter and outdoorsman. Surviving are his wife, Judy; three daughters, Natalie, Julie and Kelly George; his mother, Kunjumma George; his sister, Sally Jacob; and brother, Thomas George. He was preceded in death by his father, George Thomas. Funeral services were held on Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1629 W. Brady Rd., Chesaning. The Rev. Norman Beckwith officiated with burial in Arthur Township Cemetery, Clare. Friends called at Walker-Martin Funeral Home, Chesaning, on Thursday and Friday and at the church on Saturday.
