James C. "Grims" Grimsley, of Springville, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sunday, May 17, 2015. He was 72 years old. He is survived by his loving wife Ann Van Lenten-Grimsley, Springville. He was born on October 30, 1942 in Queens, N.Y., to the late William and Nettie (Edwards) Grimsley; he was one of six children. He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Steve Archacki and their children, Julia and Ian; daughter and son-in-law, Shelley and Trevor Peachey and their children, Trevor, Sean, Ryan and Grace; son David Van Lenten; daughter and son-in-law, Marnie and Jeremy Iams and their daughter, Emmalyn; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Robin Watts; and brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Wilma Grimsley.Jim served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps. He was retired after 23 years of service to Arnold Bakery of Greenwich, Conn. He was an active member of the Springville Volunteer Fire Department as a firefighter, and most recently Vice President and Fire Police.A Memorial will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 4 p.m. at the Daniel K. Regan Funeral Home with the Rev. Murray Brindle of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Tunkhannock officiating. Calling hours will be prior to the service from 2 to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his honor to the Springville Volunteer Fire Department.
