BURLINGTON - James Arthur Frautschy, 84, of Burlington, passed away Monday, June 4, 2012, at Aurora Burlington Hospital after a brief illness. James was born on July 27, 1927, in Monroe, to the late Arthur and Bertha (nee: Jefferies) Frautschy. On June 3, 1951, Jim was united in marriage to Deonne Missfeldt of Lake Mills, WI. After graduating from high school, Jim enlisted in the United States Navy, serving in the South Pacific during World War II. At the end of the War, he entered UW Madison, graduating in 1950 with a Degree in Animal Science. He was a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity. Jim was employed by Murphy Products Co, followed by Milk Specialties, until his retirement in the late 1980's. In retirement, Jim enjoyed gardening, golfing, fishing, working on his computer, reading and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On June 2, 2012, Jim, along with his 2 close friends, traveled on the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight to the World War II Memorial in Washington DC, he had a wonderful time. Survivors include his wife, Deonne; their children, Mark (Missy) Frautschy of Greenfield, Kim (John) Brosel of Burlington; grandchildren, Dennis, Steven, Eileen, Elizabeth, Claire (Jeff) Spiegelhoff, and Katie; great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Hannah; and by other relatives and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jeffrey. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 10, 2012 at 3 p.m. at the Veterans Terrace with Pastor Chuck Cervenka officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family at the Veterans Terrace from 2 p.m. until the time of service. The family requests you come celebrate Jim's life dressed in his favorite Badger colors, red and white.
