Jacqueline Ann Tuttle, 68, passed away at her home in Eagle River, Alaska, on Dec. 6, 2016.Jacqueline was born on Oct. 21, 1948, in Buffalo, N.Y., to Burwell "Jack" and Verdan "Cookie" Cookman. Her family relocated to Anchorage, Alaska, in 1958. She graduated from West High School in 1966, and soon married Robert "Bob" Tuttle on June 15, 1967, at Elmendorf Air Force Base. During Bob's Air Force service, they lived in Oklahoma, where their first daughter, Dee, was born and lived in California, where their second daughter, Shannon, was born. Following, they lived in Mississippi, Guam, Illinois and Minnesota before coming back home to Eagle River, Alaska for good in 1980. She was employed with ALAGCO from 1981 - 1984, Alaska Fish and Farm from 1985 - mid-1990s, and Food Services of America from the mid 1990s - 2007, when she retired.Jacqueline was very proud to be a Girl Scout Troop Leader and to teach stained glass in Anchorage community schools. She was an award winning stained glass and ceramic doll artist, winning awards in the Fur Rondy and Alaska State Fair competitions. She was a rubber stamping and mixed media artist and teacher who loved sharing her talents with her community. She encouraged others to learn and be creative. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with family and friends. She will always be remembered for her sense of humor, love of animals and gardening, but most of all for her artistic soul that made everything she touched a part of her.Jacqueline was preceded in death by her parents, Burwell and Verden Cookman; and by her three brothers-in-law, Gary Seabolt, Steve Duncan and David Tuttle.She is survived by her loving husband, Robert "Bob" Tuttle of Eagle River; daughter, Dee Tuttle of Eagle River; daughter, Shannon Tuttle of Anchorage, Alaska; sister, Sandy Duncan of Palmer, Alaska; sister, Pam Cookman of Eagle River; nephew, Jake Seabolt of Chugiak, Alaska; nephew, Zach Seabolt of Eagle River; sister-in-law, Kris Slagle of Cape Coral, Fla.; sister-in-law, Diane Tuttle of Hastings, Minn.; nephew, Ben Tuttle of St. Cloud, Minn.; and many friends and acquaintances she influenced in her life.No services are scheduled at this time.
