July 28, 1940 - Nov. 3, 2016 Jackson Decatur Terry, Jr. died peacefully at his daughter's home on Nov. 3, in Vallejo, at the age of 76 from complications associated with Alzheimer's Disease. Terry is survived by his children, daughters, Stacey Terry-Robertson and Jennifer Terry and son, Bryan (Nikki) Terry; sister, Mae Helen Euwing; nine grandchildren, Andrew Robertson, Kristopher "C.J." Robertson, Eisha Felomino, Amaunnie Felimino, Bryan Terry, Bryant Fancher Terry, Alize Terry, Aja Terry, and Amaya Baker; as well as several beloved nieces, nephews, and close friends. He has been reunited in heaven with his wife, Elizabeth; mother, Odie; father, Jackson, Sr.; and nephew, Dwight. Terry was born on July 28, 1940, in McAlester, OK. He graduated from high school while enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, and later earned a bachelor's degree in English from Golden Gate University. While in the Air Force, Terry worked as an Avionic Communications Technician on aircraft, including the C-5 Galaxy, while being stationed at several different military installations, including bases in Japan, New York, Massachusetts, Viet Nam, Guam, and Travis Air Force Base. He and Liz were married in Dec. 1962, while he was stationed in New York. After 20 years of service, he retired from the Air Force and he and the family moved to Vacaville, CA. He also worked and retired from OEA Aerospace, Inc. in Fairfield, CA. Terry was an accomplished piano player and vocalist and was the leader of "The Jackson Terry Band" for several years. The band performed at numerous clubs and venues throughout Northern California. He was a generous individual who loved music and who was passionate about the Blues. A viewing is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 9, from 3 to 8 p.m., at Wiggins-Knipp Funeral Home, 524 Capitol St., Vallejo. Funeral services, with a committal service following, are scheduled for Nov. 10, at 9:30 a.m., at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetary, 5810 Midway Rd, Dixon.
