Jessica Mary Heydon, age 42, of Leawood, Kansas, beloved wife and mother passed away unexpectedly on September 14, 2016. Jessica was born on March 18, 1974 to John and Patricia Wilcox in Mankato, Minnesota. As a child, Jessica enjoyed many adventures with her sister Jennifer and brothers Jim and John. Jessica earned a business degree from the University of Missouri in 1996 and began a career in sales in Kansas City. It was at this time she met Jonathan Heydon, the love of her life. They moved to Pleasanton, California where they married on August 30, 2003. Jessica loved living in California, maintaining her spirit of adventure by travelling and working. She passed her Series 7 test transitioning her to a career in personal banking. In 2008, Jon and Jessica moved back to the Kansas City area, where she began her biggest and most rewarding adventure, motherhood. Jessica and Jon have two beautiful children, Wyatt Joseph and Abigail Elizabeth. Jessica adored being a mom and was happiest when with her family. She enjoyed being outside and spent most days at the park or on walks with the kids. Jessica was an amazing aunt to her many nieces and nephews, spending time watching their sporting events, going to birthday parties and family dinners. All who knew Jessica will miss her beautiful spirit, her warm smile and infectious laugh. Jessica was preceded in death by her grandparents, Vincent and Beverley Dudley and Norbert "Bud" and Irene Wilcox. Jessica is survived by her husband, Jonathan, her children Wyatt and Abigail; her parents John and Patricia; her siblings Jennifer Rohman and husband Kevin, Jim Wilcox and wife Kari, John Wilcox and wife Carly; nieces and nephews Arthur, Kevin and Harrison Rohman, Christopher, Ryan and Jake Wilcox, Rosemary and Daisy Wilcox, Madison, Connor and Mackenzie Heydon and Sloan Lister. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, September 22 at 10:00 a.m. at Church of the Nativity, 3800 W 119th St., Leawood, KS.
