Iva Jewell Curstinger Walls, 82, of the Woodlawn Community of Nelson County, died Monday, Sept. 19, 2016, at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville.A native of Washington County, she was born on May 28, 1934, to the late Clell and Lena Mae Settles Curtsinger.She was a member of the Mill Creek Baptist Church and a homemaker.Preceding her in death was a sister, Mary Ruth Curtsinger and two brothers, Roland and Davis Curtsinger.Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Tommy Walls; two daughters, Penny Childress (Chris) and Pamela Childress (Mike), of Hodgenville; two sons, Glenn Walls (Beverly) of Hawkins, Texas, and Col. Timothy Walls (Kathy), of Fort Riley, Kan.; nine grandchildren, Carrie Carrington, Katie Harlan, Cassie Fahnert, Kellie Miller, Charity Wilkerson-Bienick, Tabitha Walls, Thomas Childress, Joey Childress and Nick Childress; fifteen great grandchildren; a brother, Melvin Curtsinger (Eleanor), of Springfield and two sisters, Edith Votaw, of Springfield, and Evelene Wall (Sherman), of Louisville.The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at Carey & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Haynes, officiating. He will be assisted by Bro. Gary Chesser.Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery.Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, at the Carey & Son Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Joey Childress, Nick Childress, Thomas Childress, Chris Childress, Mike Childress and David Harlan.Carey & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
