Isadore Jacob HaubrichLongtime resident from the Hodgeville District passed away peacefully on November 6, 2017 with his wife Madeleine at his side. At the time of his passing he was 89 years of age and a resident at the Meadows Care Centre in Swift Current. He is survived by wife Madeleine, children Richard (Debra) Haubrich and Nita (Jody) Rysavy of Saskatoon and Lisa Haubrich of Regina, grandchildren Dayton, Anthony, Samantha Haubrich, Bailey, Jacob, Savannah Rysavy and Emery Haubrich-Sly, brother Edgar (Sonja) Haubrich, Elaine (Raymond) Rambow; in-laws Suzanne Haubrich, George (Ernesta) Caron, Sr. Marguerite Caron, Terry Danbrook, Claire (Daniel) Delorme, Cecile Schnell, Helen (Barry) Lyons, Gilberte Caron, Marie-Claire Caron, Mary Caron, Stella Caron, and numerous nieces and nephews and extended families. He was predeceased by parents Anton Sr. and Catherine (Peace), siblings Adolph (Edna) Haubrich, Mary (Ken Kelly) (Richard) Bastein, Herb Haubrich, Edith (Steve) Raduik, and infant twins Dorothy and Doreen; in-law parents, Jacques Arthur and Denise Caron, in-laws Francois, Lucien, Herve, Jean (Noella), Annette Caron, Jim Schnell and Peter Lunness. Isadore was born on the family farm on December 3, 1927. He attended Easby school until 1942-43 when he went to school in Hodgeville. When he left school he began working with his brothers and his father on the farm, purchasing his first piece of land in 1950, his start in a lifetime of farming which he retired from in 1999. Isadore was a hard worker, but he enjoyed both playing and watching sports, working with wood, playing cards and socializing. In 1968 he married Madeleine after a brief courtship and they built a home south of Hodgeville along highway 19, where he lived until illness forced him to move to Swift Current. Isadore served on St. Joseph's Parish council, and was a life member of the Knights of Columbus and the Elks and proudly supported the Credit Union and Coop in Hodgeville. In the last few years Isadore suffered from dementia gradually losing track of the outside world, but seeing children would bring a sparkle to his eyes and he would still love to tease and play with them. His personality was one that balanced determination and steadfastness with kindness and fun. The funeral service will be held November 10 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Hodgeville.
