Irma Marie HagerMANSFIELD: Irma Marie Hager, 89, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Mansfield Memorial Homes after an extended battle with Alzheimer Disease.She was born on November 30, 1927 to Mary and John Bauer and lived in Mansfield all of her life. Irma graduated from Mansfield Senior High School, with the class of 1945. After graduation, she worked at the Mansfield Knitting Mill on Dewey Avenue and later with Tappan Company. In 1951, she married Albert Hager and soon became a mother of three children, whom would remain to be the center of her life. In the 1960's she returned to the workforce as an employee of Mansfield ThermODisc where she enjoyed a thirty one year career. Irma's favorite joy in life was spending time with her children at her Lake Erie cottage in Huron, Ohio. Her father built the cottage in the 1940's and will stay in the family for years to come. Irma had a great sense of humor and enjoyed life to the fullest. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Irma was a long time member of Westbrook Country Club where she enjoyed golf and swimming. She was also a member of the Mansfield LaJolie Club for thirty-five years, Mansfield Leiderkrantz, the Sons of Herman, Mansfield Senior High Alumni Association, Park Avenue Tuesday Niters bowling league for thirty years, ThermODisc Ladies golf league, and a lifetime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.She is survived by her children, Gary Hager of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Tim (Deb) Hager of Mansfield, and Cathy (Bruce) Cloes of Mansfield; five grandchildren, Amy (Adam) Stehle, Brian (Kelly) Cloes, Kyle Hager, Jason Hager and Seth Hager; and four great-grandchildren, Adison Stehle, Ava Stehle, Aiden Stehle and Bowen Cloes. Irma is also survived by her brother, Rudolph Bauer; sisters, Martha Blank and Adeline Banks. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Hager; her parents, Mary and John Bauer; and a grandson, Brett Cloes.The family will welcome friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 9, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
