Fassbender, Irene M.At age 96, died peacefully on September 5, 2017 at Matthew's of Neenah. She was born on May 20, 1921 in Greenville, Wisconsin, daughter of the late George & Josephine Tennie. On November 12th, 1942, she was married to Elmer John Fassbender at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greenville. In early year's she worked for Zwicker's Knitting Mill. She was a homemaker raising 11 children and later worked at the Hortonville Canning Factory. She is a life time member of St. Mary's Greenville Catholic Church and a member of the Christian Mothers. Irene is survived by her loving family: Louie (Dick) Malouf , Joan (Jack) Kuhnke, Larry, Patricia (Bruce) Learman, Gary (Gloria), Joe, Kathy (Rick) Phillips, Rick (Sherri), and Jim (Angie); grandchildren Scott (Wendy), Jeff (Julie), Tam (Steve) Nutter, Tim (Nikki) Malouf; Jack Jr. (Anne) Kuhnke, Jamie (Amy) Kuhnke, Jill (Tim) Harrikkala, Joy (D.J.) Dontje, John (Ellen) Flannery, Patrick (Val) Flannery, Dan (Heidi) Flannery, Mike (Lisa), Michelle (Brian) Niemuth, Jennifer Learman, Lisa (Seth) Baehman, Tony (Brenda), Amy, Amanda (Bob) Gross, Joey, Nick, Sam, Josh, Rachel (Kyle) Deuster, Katie (fiancée Tom Dahlke); Further survived son-in-law Jim Flannery, former daughter in laws, Margene Fassbender and Robin Fassbender. Sister Veronica (Don) Herzfeldt and sister-in-law Dolores Tennie. Goddaughter Mary Jo Vanden Huevel. 36 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.Preceded in death by her husband Elmer, parents George & Josephine Tennie, son Tom and daughter-in-law Carol, daughter Ruth Flannery, great-grandson Kodye Fassbender. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of service. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM with Rev. Michael Warden and Rev. Justin Warner officiating. Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery following the service. Memorials to St. Mary's Catholic Church in honor of Irene and Elmer are appreciated.
