Irene M. Collins, 89, of Montrose, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, March 14, 2015, at the Meadow View Senior Living Center. Her husband, Clayton Earl Collins, predeceased her.She was born on February 28, 1926, in Forest Lake Twp., PA, to the late Frank B. and Vida A. (Conrad) Welch. Surviving are her five children and their spouses, Louise Mae Ayers, Montrose, Orlene and Rick Shoemaker, Montrose, Marjorie Johnson, Montrose, Earl Collins, New Milford, Eleanor Meshach, Montrose; sister, Grace Kosik, Endicott, N.Y.; 17 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Melissa Irene Button; sister, Pauline Titus; and brother, Andrew Welch.Irene was a member of the Bridgewater Baptist Church. Prior to her marriage, she worked at a shoe factory and hangar factory. After moving to Nicholson, she worked at Irene's Sportswear and Blouse factory as a sewing machine operator. She enjoyed playing games and doing puzzles with her grandchildren. Irene was the last of the original occupants of the Montrose Square Apartments; she moved there in 1979 after her husband's passing. A Funeral Service was held Tuesday, March 17, 2015, with Pastor Bob Kadlecik of the Bridgewater Baptist Church officiating, at the Daniel K. Regan Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Montrose Cemetery. Visitation was held prior to the service. Donations in Irene's memory can be made to the Bridgewater Baptist Church.
