Hoy Peeler, Jr. 83, of Salisbury, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at his home in Salisbury, NC. Hoy was born on December 5, 1933 to the late Hoy Alexander and Lottie “Maude” Wilhelm Peeler in Rowan County, NC. He was a 1952 graduate of Granite Quarry High School, and worked as a Electrician for Southern Railway. Hoy was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. He enjoyed farming and hunting. In addition to his parents, Hoy was preceded in death by Son, Perry Eugene Peeler, Grandson, Ronnie Truitt Smith, Jr., Brother, George Peeler, Sisters, Margaret Bratton, Mary Alice Troutman, Mary Fortune, and Katherine M Peeler. Hoy is survived by his; Son, Tony Dale Peeler of Salisbury; Daughter, Sandra Joanne Daniels and husband Wayne of Vale; Brother, James Peeler and wife Carolyn of Thomasville; Sister, Sue Lyerly and husband Joe of Granite Quarry; Grandson, Tony Dale Peeler Jr. and wife Jessica of Salisbury; Two Granddaughters, Diane Elizabeth Wilfong and husband Bradley of Vale, Dawn Hardy and husband Jacob; Two Great-grandsons, Mason Peeler, and Mason Luke Wilfong; Two Great-granddaughters, Aubrey Peeler, and Allison Grace Wilfong and Alexis Smith. Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 8, 2017, 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm at Powles Staton Funeral Home, Rockwell, NC. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2017, 2:00 pm at the Powles Staton Funeral Home Chapel, Rockwell, NC, conducted by Pastor Don Safrit, Messiah Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in the Brookhill Memorial Gardens with military graveside rites provided by the NC National Guard.
