Longtime Juneau resident Hortense Genevieve "Gen" Dickey passed away on October 19, 2014, in Scottsdale, Arizona. Gen was born on January 14, 1930, to Horton G. and Stella Haight in Twin Falls, Idaho.Gen married Don Dickey on November 2, 1957, in Carmel California. They had two children, daughter Dru and son Dane Dickey.She worked at several banks in Juneau early in her career. She went on to serve as special assistant in the COngressional Office, where she found joy helping constituents.Gen and Don led a life filled with fun, friends, and adventure, but nothing meant more to them than family and friends. Gen leaves behind her two children, sister Anabel and her husband Ray Lusty of Sun Valley, Idaho, and her beloved friends. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Horton G. Haight Jr., and Robert Haight, as well as her parents.Gen and Don's ashes will be buried together in a private family cemetary at Blue Lakes Ranch, Idaho.
