Serchen, Hilma A.Hilma A. Serchen, 86, Marshfield, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Friday, December 30, 2016 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 4, 2016 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Marshfield, where the visitation will be from 9:00 am until service time. Burial will take place in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Marshfield. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family. Hilma was born on June 6, 1930 in Washburn, Wisconsin, to Walter and Lillian (Rave) Anderson. She attended elementary school in Mason, Wisconsin and was a graduate of Ashland High School. She married the love of her life, Roger R. Serchen on September 10, 1955 in Duluth, MN. As a young lady Hilma was employed at Credit and Collection Agency in Ashland. She later worked in the office for Lloyd Felker and then as a medical assistant at Marshfield Clinic for 37 years until her retirement. After retirement, she worked at Northwest Fabrics for 5 years. Hilma was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the
Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, the Sons of Norway and was involved in 4H. She enjoyed many crafts, including sewing, pottery, embroidery, cake decorating and leather crafts. She also enjoyed camping, fishing and cooking. Hilma and Roger did much traveling in their early years to many states. They spent their retired summers in the north woods enjoying all their friends at the campground. She is survived by her husband, Roger and a son, Jeff (Ann) Serchen of Chili. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, Beau (Jena) Serchen and their son Bryant; Brant (Shannon) Serchen; Craig Serchen; Emily Serchen; Jason (Jody) Jennerman and their children, Abby and Austin; Cliff (Peggy) Jennerman and their daughter, Danica; and Darrell (Kim) Chaltry and their children Lily and Riley; and a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Serchen. She was predeceased by her parents and a son David.Memorials may be designated in her name to Immanuel Lutheran Church. Condolences may be sent online to
