DURHAM, N.C. — Hilbert Lee Reddick, 58, born on Oct. 21, 1957 in Rockingham, earned his wings on Wednesday, May 18, 2016. He passed away peacefully at home in Durham, surrounded by family.
He graduated from Richmond Senior High School in Rockingham, followed by continued studies at Sandhills Community College in Southern Pines. Upon graduating from St. Andrews University in Laurinburg, he worked as an emergency medical technician for 10 years. The majority of his working years were spent working with special-needs adults at Durham Exchange Club Industries in Durham and with at-risk children at Central Regional Hospital in Butner.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Reddick of the home; children, Amber Reddick of Atlanta, Georgia, Justin Reddick of Raleigh; and a son, Shawn Wilson of Greensboro.
The family would like to thank Duke University Hospital and Duke HomeCare and Hospice for their care and support.
Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Union Baptist Church, 904 N. Roxboro St., Durham, NC 27701 with the funeral to follow at 2 p.m.
