Herman H. Vincent, Sr.Knoxville, TNHerman H. Vincent, Sr. - age 92 of Knoxville, TN went to be with his Lord on Thursday, October 5, 2017, after a brief illness. He was born on March 21, 1925 to Rev. Melvin and Rosie Vincent. Herman retired from Yellow Freight System after 38 years. He loved his Lord and enjoyed being around his church family. He was a member of Rutledge Pike Baptist Church. He was a loving father and grandfather. His family and friends will miss him and his contagious smile greatly. Preceded in death by loving wife of 64 years, Hazel R. Vincent; parents, Rev. Melvin and Rosie Vincent; son, Melvin "Butchie" Leroy Vincent; brothers, Jessie and Walter Vincent; and sister, Ethel Chapman. Survived by children, Joann and Cecil Hale, Rev. Herman and Mary Vincent, Jr.; Rev. Michael and Tina Vincent, Ronnie and Eleanor Vincent, Connie and Harry Haynes, Nancy and Eddie Clark; along with 13 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; several nieces and nephews whom he dearly loved; and long-time friend, Juanita Mickler. The family would like to express thanks to the UT Hospice who provided care and support in his final days. Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Sunday, October 8, 2017, at Bridges Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Vincent and Rev. Herman "Sonny" Vincent, Jr. officiating. Family and friends will meet 9:45 AM Monday at Woodlawn Cemetery for a 10:00 AM interment. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
