Herbert Charles Ridge, Sr., 90ALBANY - Herbert Charles Ridge, Sr., 90, passed away early Saturday morning, November 19, 2016, at the Albany Health and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness.He was born on January 29, 1926 in Blount County, Tennessee, the son of Arthur Charles and Georgia Maude (Elkins) Ridge.Herbert attended Muncie City Schools and later married the love of his life, Mildred (Claspell) Ridge on August 19, 1945 in Muncie at her parents' home and she survives. Mr. Ridge had worked as a supervisor for Warner Gear having served thirty years prior to his retirement. He also had owned and operated a dairy farm near Selma for many years. Mr. Ridge was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and the Warner Gear Sympathy Club.Besides his wife of seventy-one years, Mildred, he is survived by three sons, Herbert C. Ridge, Jr. (wife, Diana), St. George, Utah, Perry Ridge (wife, Laura), Muncie and Ed Ridge (wife, Pam), Marietta, Georgia; two daughters, Jennifer Clark (husband, Mark), Eaton and Debbie Reed, Ely, Nevada; twenty-five grandchildren; forty-three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Dorothy Davis (husband, Max), Sarasota, Florida, Alice Smart (husband, John) Albany; Barbara Eller (husband, Albert), Muncie; one brother, Bob Ridge (wife, Carolyn), Muncie; and four sisters-in-law, Francis, Sue, Sarah and Bonnie Ridge.He is preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter, Kim in 2014; two great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Elliot in 2010; four brothers, Leonard, Carl, Vernon and Bill; one sister, Luellen; and one brother-in-law, James.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2016, 10:00 a.m., Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints church, 4800 Robinwood Dr., Muncie, IN 47304 with Bishop Eric Fenstermaker officiating. Burial will follow at the Gardens of memory Cemetery north of Muncie.
