Schnitzler, Henrietta R.Henrietta R. Schnitzler of Theresa passed away peacefully at St. Agnes Hospital on Monday, February 27, 2017 at 79 years of age. She had been a resident at Hope Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lomira for the past 3 years after suffering a small stroke.She was born on April 22, 1937 on the Peters family farm in the town of Polk to the late Henry and Theresa (nee Melder) Peters. Her father passed away exactly 70 years prior, February 27, 1947.On September 30, 1961, she married Joseph Schnitzler at Holy Angels Catholic Church in West Bend. Henrietta graduated from St. Mary's Springs High School in 1955.Henrietta had worked in banking, at a nursing home and grocery store. She spent most of her years as a loving homemaker caring for her family. She enjoyed the simple pleasures in life such as spending time with her family, sewing, cooking and baking. You would never leave her house without having a feast.Henrietta was a very active member of St Theresa's Catholic Church in Theresa. Over the years, she served in various ways including being a member of St Ann's Ladies Sodality, choir member, Sunday school teacher, hall manager, and sacristan to name a few.Henrietta is survived by her loving husband Joseph of 55 years; their two children: Leo (Candi) Schnitzler of Menomonee Falls and Gerene Schnitzler of Theresa; two grandchildren: Avery and Levi; one brother: Francis (Rita) Peters of West Bend, one sister: Lillian Ritger of West Bend; three sisters-in-law: Harriet Peters of Theresa, Edna Peters of West Bend and Shirley Schnitzler of Grafton; one brother-in-law Andrew Schnitzler of Beaver Dam; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 4 brothers: Rev. Raymond Peters, Donald Peters, Aloys Peters and Edmond Peters; 3 sisters: Dorothy Baumann, Marie Wiedmeyer, and Genevieve Wiedmeyer; 6 brothers-in-law; 3 sisters-in-law and other relatives and friends.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 7th, 2017 at 12:00 noon at St Theresa's Catholic Church in Theresa with the Rev. Father Thomas Biersack presiding. The family will greet relatives and friends at a visitation, which will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the 12:00 noon service at St. Theresa's. Burial will follow at St. Theresa Catholic Cemetery in Theresa.
