Helen L. SoiniHelen Louise (Popham) Soini, 92, a lifelong resident of Port Huron, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2017.She was born on July 1, 1924, in Port Huron to the late Harry and Ada Popham. Helen married Frederick "Sam" Soini.  He preceded her in death on January 13, 2003.Helen had two careers, working both at Diamond Crystal Salt and for the City Of Port Huron.  She enjoyed visits and day trips "looking for freighters" with her good friends Howard Ferns, Kay Sholtis and her niece, Sue Popham Moore.  Helen spent her last few years under the tender care of Sanctuary at Mercy Village.She was preceded in death by her siblings, Winifred Popham, Dorothy Pulver and Clift and Leonard Popham.A private graveside service will be held for family and close friends.Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.Sue Moore would like to express her appreciation to all those who gave comfort and support during her stay at Mercy Village.For information and guestbook, please visit karrersimpson.com
