Helen M. Bradford ShirerZANESVILLE: Helen Marie Bradford Shirer, 89, of Zanesville, passed away at 1:48 P.M. Friday, June 5, 2015, at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital emergency room. She was born on December 7, 1925, in Adamsville, a daughter of the late Issac and Zella Werts Bradford. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and retired as the Executive Director of the Zanesville Day Nursery and School. Helen loved to go dancing, play cards, was an avid gardener, loved to cook for her family at gatherings, and spoil her grandchildren.Surviving are her husband of 68 years, Billy J. Shirer; two sons, Steve (Diane) Shirer of Zanesville and Chris (Kelly) Shirer of Marysville; grandchildren, Carrie (Bill Romine) Shirer, Andy Shirer, Heather Shirer, and Kyle Shirer; five great grandchildren and a sister, Kathryn Ferrell of Zanesville.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Eleanor Foster.A memorial service for Helen's life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday June 20, 2015 at St. John's Lutheran Church, corner of Market & 7th Street, Zanesville with Pastor Mark Combs officiating.
