Ott, HelenHelen Marie Ott, age 85, of Marshfield died peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 with family at her side. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 604 S. Chestnut Avenue, Marshfield. Visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of service. Pallbearers will be Helen's grandsons: Andrew Goplin, Jesse Goplin, Matthew Goplin, Zachary Miller, Samuel Ott and Mitchell Ott. Honorary pallbearers will be Helen's granddaughters: Nicole Capriccio, Elizabeth Ott, Haley Ott, Amy Ott, and Erin Ott. Helen was born on December 24, 1931 in Marshfield, WI to Arthur and Sarah (Krueger) Paasch. Helen was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hewitt, Wisconsin. She was a 1949 graduate of Marshfield High School. After high school Helen was employed as a secretary at Berg Equipment. She married Roger Ott on September 19, 1953 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Marshfield. They shared a life together for nearly 61 years, raising four children. Together, they owned and operated a dairy and crop farming operation west of Marshfield until their retirement. Helen was a dedicated wife, mom and grandmother. She was active as a 4-H leader and in her church, where she especially enjoyed cooking funeral meals for many years. While on the farm, she tended a large vegetable garden and also enjoyed flower gardening. She was a wonderful cook and could always be counted on to have homemade cookies ready. She was an avid reader and loved a visit to the library. A good game of cards and Thursday lunches with friends were special treats. She doted on her cat Charlie who was a wonderful companion in her later years. Helen is survived by her children: Debra (Ron) Goplin of Cross Plains, Steven Ott of Marshfield, Jan (Soren)Albertsen of Madison, Barry (Tammy) Ott of Marshfield as well as her 11 grandchildren: Andrew (Rebecca) Goplin, Jesse (Coral) Goplin, Matthew Goplin, Samuel Ott, Elizabeth Ott, Erin Ott, Nicole (Anthony) Capriccio, Zachary Miller, Haley Ott, Amy Ott and Mitchell Ott. She is further survived by five great grandchildren: Miles Goplin, Toby Goplin, Abel Goplin, Felix Capriccio, and Cleo Capriccio. Other survivors include her sister: Ardene (Darwin) Ott and sister-in-law: Joyce Ott. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Harvey Paasch and her husband Roger.Memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church and School in Marshfield or Ministry Hospice Care.The family would like to thank the staff of Ministry Hospice Care for their support and compassion.
