Helen Ann Milliken, 78, of Sneads Ferry, passed away Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, at Onslow Memorial Hospital. She was born on Oct. 22, 1935, in Wayne, Neb., the daughter of the late Kermit and Rose Ahern Corzine.
She was a wonderfully warm and caring woman who wore a continual smile on her face, always willing to help, always concerned about everyone but herself. She bore her illness without complaining and again with a smile for everyone. She was a member of numerous community organizations and an active member of the Catholic Church throughout her life.
Surviving is her husband of 60 years, Albert Milliken Jr.; two sons, Michael Allen Milliken and wife Royce of Oklahoma, and Timothy Lee Milliken and wife Kelley of Hampstead; a daughter, Patti Rose Hendren and husband Bill of Alabama; and an "adopted son," Michael Williamson of Virginia; five grandchildren, T.J. Milliken, Rose Hendren, Billy Hendren, Jeff Milliken and Keith Milliken; three granddogs, Franklin, Bella Rose and Lady; one brother, Harold Corzine and wife Alice; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12 at Andrews Mortuary Hampstead Chapel.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church in Hampstead, with the Rev. John Durbin officiating.
