Helen H. Marquez, 95, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2015, at Anna Kaseman Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque.She was born on Sept. 15, 1919, to Juan B. Baca and Margarita Licon in Denver. She was a teacher aide for the Las Vegas City Schools, a foster grandparent for 28 years and was in Senior Olympics. She received many awards and had many hobbies.She was preceded in death by her parents: Juan and Margarita Marquez; husband: Arturo Marquez; brother: Juanito Baca; daughters: Juanita Baca and Catherine Montoya; daughter-in-law: Yvonne Marquez; and son-in-law: Victor Barela.She is survived by her daughters: Agnes Sanchez and husband, Charlie, of Albuquerque, Sylvia Sweeney and husband, Myles, of Las Vegas; son: Arthur P. Marquez and wife, Patsy, of Albuquerque; daughters: Patricia Padilla and former husband, Simon Padilla, of Santa Fe, Margie Barela of Albuquerque; son: David Marquez and wife, Kate, of Las Vegas, Eddie Marquez of Albuquerque; daughter: Jane Marquez of Albuquerque; son: Steve Marquez and wife, Cynthia, of Las Vegas; 29 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.Rosary services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, at Rogers Chapel in Las Vegas.Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Anton Chico with Father Antonio Mondragon as celebrant.Interment will follow at San Jose Cemetery in Anton Chico with the following serving as casket bearers: Charles Sanchez Jr., Myles Sweeney Jr., Fred Gonzales, Arthur Marquez Jr., Robert Padilla, Andrew Marquez, Kevin Marquez and Brian Marquez.Serving as honorary nearers will be the rest of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Visit Rogers Mortuary's website at www.rogersmortuarynm.com to sign their online register book.Arrangements are under the direction of Rogers Mortuary; 600 Reynolds Ave., Las Vegas; 1-800-479-3511 or 425-3511.
