Hazel D. PickardFREMONT: Hazel D. Pickard, 88, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 29, 2017. She was born on September 12, 1928 to Benjamin and Lucinda (Wingate) Franks. She graduated from Fostoria High School.She married David C. Pickard on August 14, 1948. They were married 64 years.Hazel was a secretary at United Insurance Service for 17 years. She was also a homemaker.She enjoyed her family most of all, as well as all her dear friends, flower gardening, playing cards and Bingo at Elmwood. Hazel loved life. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church.She is preceded in death by her husband, David and her parents.She is survived by her children, William (Pam) Pickard and Barbara (Jerry) Miller; grandchildren, Bill (Janet) Pickard, Erika (Kevin) Simpson, Tracy (Brad) Isch, and Paul (Sarah) Miller; She had 20 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brother-in-law, Paul Pickard and sister-in-law, Amy Carper.Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 7, from 1-3:00 p.m. at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont where a Memorial Service will begin at 3:00 p.m. Deacon Matt Wahlgren will officiate.The family wishes to thank Dr. Charles Valone, Stein Hospice, and the wonderful caregivers at Elmwood Assisted Living.
