Harry A. Myers Jr.PORT CLINTON: Harry A. Myers Jr., 70, of Port Clinton, OH, passed away, Friday, February 10, 2017 at H.B. Magruder Hospital, Port Clinton, OH, surrounded by his loving family. Harry was born on September 12, 1946, in Fremont, OH, the son of Harry A. "Shorty" Myers Sr. and Marjorie Beulah (Mason) Berger Myers. On December 22, 1965 in Port Clinton, he married Cheryl Ann (LaNier) Myers and she survives. He worked as a marine mechanic. Harry was a Specialist 4th Class in the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War, where he received the Army's Air Medal for Heroism under fire during a helicopter rescue operation. He was a door gunner on a utility helicopter at the time of his heroism. Harry was a life member of the V.F.W. Homer D. Gardner Post #2480, where he was serving as the Quartermaster and a member of the Ottawa County Billiard League. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. Left to cherish his memory: Loving Wife: Cheryl Ann Myers; Daughters: Cassandra (David) Irick and Leandra Myers; Son: Harry R. Myers Sr.; Brother: Richard Berger; Sister: Vicky Wahlers; Sister-in-Law: Roxanne (Randy) Hall; Grandchildren: Harry Myers Jr., Kira Irick, Bryanna Myers, Duncan Eitel, Conner Eitel, Ashley Peroni, Tricia Peroni and Antonio Peroni and numerous Nieces and Nephews. Harry was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Wayne "Moose" Berger, sisters: Ellen Rose Dymond and Ivalene McClory.Visitation will be 10-12(noon), Thursday, February 16, 2017 at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 216 Washington St., Port Clinton, OH 43452, followed by a graveside service with military honors conducted by the V.F.W. Homer D. Gardner Post #2480 at LaCarpe Cemetery, Lacarne, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Harry may be given to the V.F.W. Homer D.
