Hill, Harriett Yvonne 82, of Coeur d' Alene, Idaho passed away November 16, 2016 at Hospice House in Coeur d' Alene with her daughter, Debbie, by her side. Yvonne was born on June 10, 1934 in Creston, Ohio to James and Marjorie Maude (Wright) Patterson. Yvonne grew up in Creston until the eighth grade when the family moved to La Puente, California. She graduated from La Puente High School and went on to graduate from Whittier College with a teaching degree. On June 16, 1956 Yvonne married James Hill and together they went to Germany where he was stationed in the military. Yvonne taught school in Germany to the military children. She also taught fourth, fifth, and sixth grades in Scottsdale, Arizona where she and Jim moved after his military service. Yvonne also worked as a merchandiser for American Greetings while in Scottsdale. After Jim passed away in 1999, Yvonne moved to Huntington Beach, California to live with Jim's sister, Sandy and then on to Coeur d' Alene, Idaho to be closer to her daughter, Debbie and family. Yvonne loved being with friends and family; and her many joys were crossword puzzles, tennis, golf, traveling, and walking with friends. Her passion was the Scottsdale Boys and Girls Club where she and Jim devoted much of their time. Her other volunteer interest was the Scottsdale 20-30, a community service organization. Yvonne is survived by her daughter, Debbie Hill Mott and husband, Richard Mott of Coeur d' Alene; sister, Vicki Lish and husband, Ted Lish of Apple Valley, California; sister-in-law, Sandy Hill of Huntington Beach, California; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren; as well as three nieces and three nephews. A brief graveside service will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, March 3, 2017 at Green Acres Cemetery, 401 N. Hayden Rd., Scottsdale, AZ with a Celebration of Life following at 12:30 PM at Uncle Sal's Italian Restaurant, 3370 N. Hayden Rd., # 120, Scottsdale, AZ.
