Swenson, HaroldHarold D. "Harry" Swenson, age 62, of Oshkosh, died Tuesday afternoon on September 12, 2017 from complications of cancer. He was born on May 24, 1955, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to William and Diana (Goetschius) Swenson. Later the family moved to Oshkosh, WI where he spent most of his primary educational years and made many friends that remained in his heart until he passed. An
U.S. Navy veteran, Harold proudly served his country and until 1974 as an Electrician's Mate. He loved working for Iverson in Milwaukee for many years before he was employed closer to home by Arrowhead Systems of Oshkosh. Harry was hard-working and loved working with the friends he met along the way. He graduated from Fox Valley Technology College with his Associates Degree in IT-Network Specialist (2008) and then received his BA from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh (2011). Harold's family and friends were an extremely significant part of his life. Nothing meant more to him than being around his close family. He was known for being a friendly and kind individual who went above and beyond for his friends and family. In his spare time, he enjoyed tinkering with electronics, listening to music, traveling, concerts, catching up on news, and playing guitar. He especially adored teaching his grandchildren about his favorite musicians, hooking them on the legends while they were young! Harold was a proud father to his daughter, Heather (Dustin Montalvo) Swenson and his son, Christopher Swenson, all from Oshkosh. He is also survived by their mother and his best friend, Bonnie Bergquist of Oshkosh; four grandchildren, Nicole, Taylor, Boyd, and Molly; his sister, Patricia Swenson of Oshkosh; and nieces Michelle (Davis) Reyes and Kendra Swenson-Ward of Oshkosh; cousins Thomas (Pam) Elmer of Oregon and Timothy Elmer of Madison, as well has his extended family and friends.
